JM is embracing a vibrant initiative aimed at brightening students' spirits and fostering an inclusive environment. In a project led by Student Support Specialist Tracy Young, the JM Student Ambassadors recently worked to collect colorful paint chips donated by Lowe’s and Walmart. The goal? To “Paint the School with Kindness.” This initiative encourages students to write positive affirmations on the paint chips and post them throughout the school’s hallways, transforming the building with messages of hope, kindness, and inspiration. Words like “You’ve got this,” “Stay strong,” and “Kindness is contagious” now greet students and staff each day.

Walker-Grant Middle School is so lucky to have our dedicated School Resource Officer Florio serving our community every day. Officer Florio was recently awarded the "Officer of the Year" Award from Fraternal Order of Eagles and the "Chief's Citation For Professional Recognition" from Chief Layton. Officer Florio, or "Bestie" as some students call him, is a dedicated, supportive, and strong mentor for the students of Walker-Grant. He works every day to meet student needs, protect, and care for our school community. As he walks the halls, connects with students during lunch, and leads the Criminal Justice After-School club, Florio works tirelessly to Make Walker-Grant home for our students. Walker-Grant is a better place with Florio! 🧡
