2025-26 Elementary School Zones

Introducing Our New School Zone Map

We're excited to present our School Board-approved Elementary School Zone map, effective beginning in the 2025-26 school year. This revision reflects our ongoing dedication to creating balanced, inclusive, and cohesive school communities.

How We Got Here

The process of updating our school zones began with a proposal presented to the School Board on September 9, 2024. This early version was informed by data from the 2023-2024 academic year, which, while helpful, did not include incoming kindergarten students and still factored in outgoing 5th graders. Though the map shared in the fall was not final, it served as a starting point for thoughtful discussion and valuable community feedback.

Since then, we have refined the zoning plan, taking into account updated enrollment projections and our community's input. The version now posted has been officially approved and will guide school assignments beginning in fall 2025.

What We Kept in Mind

Throughout the process, we maintained several key guiding principles:

  • Contiguous zones that are logically structured and easy to understand

  • Neighborhood unity to help maintain strong community ties

  • Demographic balance that ensures fair representation of Special Education students, English Language Learners, and students from a range of economic backgrounds

Our primary objective is to achieve equitable enrollment numbers and demographic representation across all elementary schools.

Fair and Thoughtful Distribution

The new zoning map aims for an equitable distribution of students with diverse needs. Such balance is essential to foster optimal educational environments that serve the unique needs of every student effectively.
