During its March 2, 2026, meeting, the Fredericksburg City School Board approved the appointment of Tiffany Acors as Mental Health and Safety Coordinator.
Acors most recently served with Spotsylvania County Public Schools as Director of School Counseling, where she led school counseling student-based mental health teams, implemented school-wide support programs, and developed and monitored a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with state and national standards.
Her previous experience includes serving as a School Counselor for Northumberland County Public Schools and an English and Theater teacher with Richmond County Public Schools, where she focused on building strong relationships with students while supporting both academic and social development.
Acors holds a Master of Education in School Counseling from Liberty University, a Master of Education as a Reading Program Specialist (PreK-12) from Liberty University, and a Bachelor of Science in Education, English 7-12 from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
“I am committed to fostering a safe and responsive learning environment that promotes a positive climate and student well-being,” said Acors.
Superintendent Dr. Marci Catlett emphasized the importance of the role in supporting students and staff across the division.
“Positions like Mental Health and Safety Coordinator are essential to the well-being of our school communities,” said Dr. Catlett. “Ms. Acors brings both the professional expertise and the compassionate leadership needed to support students, staff, and families. Her work will help ensure that our schools remain safe, responsive environments where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.”
Fredericksburg City Public Schools looks forward to the leadership and experience Ms. Acors brings to this important role and proudly welcomes her to the FCPS community.

12-month employees will complete flexible hours by either working remotely or at the worksite.
All buildings will close at noon, March 16. All afterschool activities are canceled.
Essential personnel should contact their supervisor for report times.
The reason for the closure is a severe weather system expected to move through our region tomorrow.
To support families, free meals will be available for pick up at each school from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Thank you for your continued partnership and help keeping our students and staff safe.

There was magic in the air at preschool this week! ✨
The Amazing Dean Allen captivated our students with his Seusstacular show, bringing laughter, wonder, and lots of excitement to our day. We were completely engaged as they enjoyed the playful surprises, colorful fun, and magical moments inspired by the world of Dr. Seuss. It was a joyful experience for everyone and a perfect reminder that learning can be filled with imagination and fun! 🎩📚🪄

Families, your support makes a huge difference in your child’s success. Daily, consistent attendance helps students stay on track, build confidence, and end the school year proud of what they’ve accomplished. Every day counts. When students show up ready to learn, they strengthen good habits and stay connected with their teachers and peers.
Let’s work together to make these last 52 days of school count! Encourage your child to be present, prepared, and ready to learn each day. Finishing the year strong starts with showing up! 💪🎓
