Congratulations to the JMHS Robotics team who participated in the Innovation Challenge at Dahlgren event this past weekend, March 1 and 2. The team members were Kayla Gullage, Harmony Jones, Alfred Kley, Jacob LaBarge, and Adam Lin. The team applied their STEM skills as they designed and programmed a robot to navigate a course and complete various missions. The team earned perfect scores for their computer code and their presentation to the judges. They won a Raspberry Pi (a computer the size of a credit card), which will be used by the team in years to come.

Meet School Board Member Katie Pomeroy.
Mrs. Pomeroy was elected to the Fredericksburg City School Board in 2018. She has served in leadership positions on the Hugh Mercer PTA, the Lafayette PTA, Cub Scout Pack 802, and the College Heights Swim Team. Mrs. Pomeroy believes that a quality public education can be the foundation of a lifelong love of learning.

Meet School Board Member Malvina Kay
Ms. Kay has been appointed and elected to the Fredericksburg City School Board since 1991. During her tenure she has served as Chairman and Vice Chairman numerous times. As a member of the board, she has had a direct impact on improving the academic achievements of all children. Ms. Kay has made it her goal to promote stewardship amongst all educators.

Huge congratulations to the incredibly talented and dedicated Logan Conner for being named February's Optimist Student of the Month! From being a leader in multiple clubs to excelling on the track and basketball court, Logan embodies what it means to be a well-rounded student. She is the SCA Senior Class President, Drama Club President, NHS member, JM Ambassador member, Key Club member, Monroe Singer and so much more. She is excelling in school as well, her grades have kept her on the President's Honor Roll for 4 years. When she is not at school she volunteers for the Food Bank, FAM, Animal Shelter, Big Time Hoops, and more. She plans to attend a 4-year university in the Fall, majoring in Architecture with a minor in Theatre. We can't wait to see all the amazing things she will accomplish in the future!
