Summer School

WHO: K-12 students who did not pass school benchmark assessments, SOL tests, and were recommended by their teacher(s) for summer remediation

Preschool

WHO: Preschool students who are registered for the 2025-25 school year

DATES: June 2 – June 27 (No School on June 19)

TIME: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

KinderCamp

Camp-like experience to help students prepare for their transition to kindergarten.

WHO: Rising Kindergarten Students for 2024-25 who have completed registration in FCPS

DATES:  Session 1: June 2 – June 6 | Session 2: June 9 – June 13 | Session 3: June 16 – June 20 (No School on June 19) | Session 4: June 23 – June 27

TIMES:  8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Extended School Year

WHO: Students who have a need identified by the Individual Education Program (IEP) Committee

DATES: June 2 – June 27 (No School on June 19)

TIME: TBD based on student

Superintendent's Summer Scholars

The Superintendent's Summer Scholars is an enrichment program designed to provide students with a variety of experiences with class activities, guest speakers, and field trips.

Registration Fees and Field Trips Costs apply.

WHO: Current K-5 students

DATES: July 8 – July 25 (Field Trips on July 14 and July 21)

TIMES: Mon-Fri 8:45 AM – 11:45 AM (Field Trip hours will be 8:45 AM – 3:30 PM)

WHERE: Hugh Mercer Elementary School

HOW: A separate brochure with additional information and registration link will be sent out prior to spring break.

Summer Regional Governor's School

The Summer Regional Governor's School (SRGS) is designed and only offered to identified gifted students in Grades 6-11. Students participate in a variety of educational experiences focused on real-life application in the areas of technology and science. Higher-level thinking skills and rigorous content are embedded in this summer program. Dates and times are shared with the students who applied and were accepted.

Transportation & Food

Transportation and meals will be offered daily. Bus routes will be available on the FCPS website or by contacting your child's school.
