Such a delightful evening at the preschool art show last week, an inspiring showcase of creativity and imagination! It was wonderful to mix and mingle with fellow families while admiring student's masterpieces. This charming little soirée was filled with color, laughter, and proud moments. 🎨✨

Students from Ms. Bonilla's class held a luncheon for their patrons yesterday, which turned out to be massively successful! Patrons were able to place orders, commune with friends and dine, and eat some tasty cuisine! Go Tigers!!!

Registration is now open for the Fred Nats Baseball League, running June 1 through August 31.

Open to boys and girls ages 8–18, this league is a great way for students to learn the game, build confidence, and stay active all summer long.

Ms. Rahn and Mrs. Bane’s class went to the library today for a Word Study Escape Room to get ready for the Reading SOL and it was so much fun! 🎉 Students teamed up, cracked word clues, and put their vocabulary skills to the test. Lots of laughs, great teamwork, and learning happening all at once. We love seeing our students engaged and having fun while preparing for success! 📚✨

The FCPS Hive Cafe was proud to be part of this weekend’s Mental Health Resource Fair! 🐝✨ Our Hive Cafe is a student-run enterprise operated by our Special Education Post-Graduate Program, where students take the lead in real-world business experiences by managing daily operations such as inventory, pricing, customer service, packaging, money handling, presentation, and delivery preparation. This hands-on opportunity helps build independence, confidence, communication skills, and job readiness as students prepare for life beyond high school. We are incredibly appreciative of everyone who stopped by our table, supported our students, purchased items, and encouraged their work throughout the event. Your support directly helps create meaningful learning opportunities and motivates our students as they continue building valuable employment and life skills. Last week during Earth Day the WGMS Jr. Chefs made Earth Day cookies and freshly squeezed lemonade. This was the final meeting of the year. Thanks to all who helped make this an amazing experience for our tigers. We 💚 you!

The keynote event for our Mental Health, Safety, and Wellness Fair was our very own Youth Taskforce! JM and WGMS students answered questions about youth mental health and what adults should know about supporting students. Huge thank you to our amazing youth panelists and to councilwoman and licensed therapist, Jannan Holmes, for providing the mental health professional point of view!

Our kindergarten field trips were great experiences. Each school was welcoming and engaged our preschoolers while supporting their kindergarten readiness.
