Find the Good in Every Day!
Positive thinking can have many impacts on your mental health. Research shows that when we focus on the good, we are able to better cope with everyday challenges. Take a few minutes each day next week to focus on the positive.
Monday- Make a list of 5 things you are grateful for today.
Tuesday- Practice positive self-talk.
Wednesday- Start a conversation about mental health. Need an example of where to start, ask your family "Has anything happened recently that made you feel happy, sad, or worried?"
Thursday- Drink some water! Our bodies are made up mostly of water and it is vital to keep us hydrated and healthy.
Friday- Take a break from screens (cell phones, computers, TV's, etc.). Enjoy fresh air or play a game as a family!

Teachers and students from around the region flooded the FredNats stadium on Wednesday, May 1 for Education Day. Lafayette kindergarten, first and second grade enjoyed watching the game, grabbing photos with the mascots and exploring the exhibits.
Lafayette Elementary Clubs 3rd-5th grade. The clubs listed are crochet, crafting club-making slime with shaving cream and glue, how to draw superheroes, club making a mural, gardening, chess, cooking.

Calendar Update Monday, May 13, 2024, will change from an instructional day for students to a professional development day for faculty and staff. Faculty and staff will use this valuable time for critical planning for a new curriculum the division is implementing during the 2024-2025 school year.

🎨VSBA Art Contest Winners
Fredericksburg City Schools is excited to announce our 3 winners of the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) Student Art Contest. These winners will be on display at the 2024 VSBA Spring Regional Network Forum on May 8, 2024, to compete as a regional winner for the VSBA Regional Art Contest. Winning selections will be framed for display in the Virginia School Boards Association office throughout the year. Congratulations to our local winners and thank you to all K-12 students who participated in this contest.
