The gifted program at HM is off to a great start. Third grade gifted started their program with a Lego challenge. Fourth and fifth graders created a crazy hair lamp.

💚💛Welcome back to school! At Hugh Mercer, students are greeted with smiles. First day jitters melted away in Ms. Bland's class with Jitter juice. Paper hearts and collaboration exercises in 3rd grade built teamwork. We look forward to more fun days at HM. 💛💚

Happy Transition Day. We rolled out the red carpet for our Kindergarten students.

Hugh Mercer teachers sharpened their RCD skills this week in preparation for students to return. The teachers role played as students and practiced how to have productive conversation.

We would like to congratulate Mr. Coghill for being recognized twice at Convocation. He was a recipient of the Marguerite B. Young Award and the Incentive award.

Staff was excited to see each other upon returning to school. Yay HMES Patriots!

Did you know HMES has a PTA? It is one of the best ways to be involved in supporting your child and their teacher. Follow them at HMESPTA & join. The PTA is looking for volunteers to help children find their class on the first day (August 19). Reach out if you can help.

Students entering kindergarten, 7th grade, or 12th grade this fall may need required immunizations before school starts. These routine vaccines help keep kids healthy and in class. All lanes of I-95 North and South are shut down in the area of the 130.2 mile-marker due to power lines down across the highway, and power is out in some nearby areas. Please be safe and plan your travel accordingly when picking up students from Summer Programs.
