As millions of households across Virginia continue to struggle to maintain financial stability in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Rappahannock United Way is bringing attention to the thousands of families in our area who are unable to afford the basics for survival, despite working.

ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) is a way of defining and understanding the struggles of households that earn above the Federal Poverty Level, but not enough to afford a basic household budget. Rappahannock United Way provided over $2.6 MILLION in rent and mortgage relief to 625 local ALICE households over the last year (July 2020-June 2021). To learn more, please click HERE.
