At this time, FCPS has not adopted the new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations for K-12 schools that include reduced days for quarantine and isolation. In order to effectively plan for thoughtful implementation of changes to the new guidance, our current health protocols regarding quarantine and isolation will remain the same until further notice. Quarantine and isolation lengths remain unchanged at 10 days. We need further time to consider and evaluate the data and science as it evolves as well as continue discussions with the local Health District, other school divisions, and health experts. We will provide updated guidance as soon as it is available.
Additionally, we would like to provide these three reminders as we anticipate a return to in-person learning next week:
1. We encourage everyone to get vaccinated. We know that vaccination is the leading public health prevention strategy to end the COVID-19 pandemic. 2. Students, teachers, and staff should stay home when they have signs of any infectious illness. 3. Masks and appropriate mask wearing are required in all FCPS buildings.
As always, we appreciate your support and patience as we navigate together many unknowns inchallenging times.
