Health Services

Health Services provides information and consultation to school nurses, administrators, staff, families, and students in order to reduce barriers to learning and better assure a safe and healthy school environment.

FCPS Health Services staff provides information on many school health issues, such as:

  • School nurse services
  • Physical and emotional well-being
  • Student health screening
  • Acute and chronic illnesses (such as asthma, diabetes, and seizures)
  • Infectious diseases
  • Medication administration
  • Home/Hospital program
  • School Health Forms

Advisory Board

Fredericksburg City Schools has established a School Health Advisory Board, comprised of community representatives, parents, students and school personnel. As set forth in its by-laws, the School Health Advisory Board, meets quarterly and serves “to assist with the development of health policy in the school division and the evaluation of the status of school health, health education, the school environment and health services.

Each year, the School Health Advisory Board Chair presents both an oral and written report to the local school board on the status and needs of student health in the school division.
